On 20.1.22, there was a demonstration on the Ring. Line 2 was affected, so many trams ran through Josefstädter Straße to the underground station of the same name in a short time. There, some trams turned around, others did the same at Johann-Nepomuk-Berger-Platz, some took their usual route to Dornbach.

During the semester break in Vienna, line 43 was shortened and line 44 was discontinued. Instead of the latter, line 33 ran to Ottakring. This due to construction works on new underground line U5.

"Wiener Linien announces that Bombardier Flexity tram number 40, from a fleet of 340 trams, has been introduced into circulation, these have fleet numbers starting with 301. The new trams are already running on lines 6, 11, 18 and 71, new trams being introduced for the first time these days on line 60. Currently 4 new trams will run on this line.

Flexity Wien has been adapted for Wiener Linien and is built at the Alstom plant in Vienna Donaustadt. The modern tram offers a lot of space and thus also comfort for passengers. There are two seats for wheelchairs and eight for strollers in each tram, and there is enough space for passengers with luggage in the multifunctional area. Flexity is 100% low-floor, standing 215 millimeters high, offering one of the lowest floors of any tram in the world."
