Let me first introduce myself a bit because I am new here.
I am a Belgian architecture student, 22 years old, and graduating this year with a project in Bucharest. The subject of my project is to build a public building on the crossing from Sos. Stefan cel Mare and Calea Dorobantilor.
Together with this building, I will make a underground parking, a tunnel for traffic betwen B-dul Iancu de Hunedoara and Stefan cel Mare, a new tram station and a metro station.

I went to Bucharest from 26 oktober untill 3 november this year.
In my research about public transport, I didn't get any response from the companies who build metro-tram cars, so why not ask it on this forum. Smile

So, here are some of my questions:

1. What type of tram car rides along Stefan cel Mare?
During the period in Bucharest, they were working on the tram rails, so i couldn't take any pictures from it. That is why i don't know what type of tram-cars are there.

2. Do you know the dimensions of that type of tram: length, height, width, wheel base.

3. How many cars are normally coupled together. 2, 3, .. ?
so, does it look like : /_____] [_____\ or like /____] [____] [____\

4. If you have any more data, files etc... about the tram near Calea Dorobantilor, Stefan cel Mare, Iancu de Hunedoara... please don't hesitate to post it here..

Thx a lot for your help; it is difficult for me to understand something about websites in romanian, or about this forum.

Hello,

Normally the lines 34 and 46 use that intersection; in the past all kind of material was used on these lines but in the last year or two only modernised V3A-type trams were used. See pictures of them here: http://ratb.stfp.net/?ttx=T3F&lin=34,46&la=F (in French; substitute the final F for E for English).

They always work in single since they're long enough. As for their technical data, see: http://tramclub.org/viewtopic.php?t=1506 (look at the second post). "Lungimea" == length, "Latimea cu usile inchise" == width with doors closed, "Inaltimea..." (the 7th row) == height to the top of pantograph when the pantograph is down, "Distanta intre osiile aceluiasi boghiu" == distance between the axles of the same bogie.

1. On Iancu de Hunedoara and as well on Stefan cel Mare, after the rails will be ready the tram that will ride along those streets will be the Romanian-made V3A-93M car (V3A is the original name, after a mass rehabilitation it got the name of V3A-93M though it is still generally called V3A), of which there are some pictures here in the "trams" section, or you could see it's topic on the forum. Also there are some other types of V3A-93 tramways in Bucharest: V3A-93-PPC (partially low floor - it's basically the same, except the middle section which is low-floored) and V3A-93-CH-PPC (partially low floor, controlled with a chopper - see this since the design somewhat differs) though these variants almost for sure won't ride on Iancu de Hunedoara. So expect just the classic V3A-93M on the routes 34 and 46 in that area.

2-3. Well, stfp was faster, so see the reply above Smile

4. There are some sites about the V3A car (and it's variants), these are some of them (unfortunately, in Romanian): http://www.ratb.metrouusor.com/ - the "tramvaie" section, http://transportbucuresti.trei.ro/tramvai/Tw_V3A-93M.htm, http://transportbucuresti.trei.ro/tramvai/Tw_V3A-93-2000.htm (for the CH-PPC)...

@stfp: You say, "They always work in single" ..
i think this is, like on the information, the B'2'2'B' formation. so /_--____-][-__-][-____--_\ this should be the correct composition Smile
And thus, the total length of this formation is 27180mm?
