Line 10 was diverted in two ways.
The northern part was closed due to total renovation, the southern part was diverted to Westbahnhof resp. in Hietzing district, in combination with line 60.
The latter was only for three weeks, so that for the rest of the summer holidays line 10 yould run on the southern branch on the usual way.

On the weekend of 2/3 March 2024, the U2 only ran between Seestadt and Praterstern. Therefore, tram line 71 was extended to Praterstern via Heinestraße, an area not normally served by trams.

Line D was split from 21 October to 8 November 2024 due to construction work at Schlickplatz. One section ran from Absberggasse to Schottenring, which is why line 71 only ran as far as Schwarzenbergplatz.
The other part ran the route from Nußdorf and then from Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof via Friedensbrücke to Wallensteinplatz.

Due to the closure of the U1 between Reumannplatz and Schwedenplatz after the fire of an underground train set, line D was extended from 19 to 28 November 2024 via Absberggasse and Quellenstrasse to Reumannplatz. Line D is named as a replacement service for the U1 line.

Vienna will have one more tramwa line. Line 12, which is due to open at the start of school in 2025, will replace line 33 between Josefstädter Straße and Höchstädtplatz, running from there to the Nordbahnviertel and then along Vorgartenstraße to Hillerstrasse. This means 2.2 km of new line, relief for existing bus lines and a new connection.

Since 24 February (and until mid-April 2025), line 49 has been closed between Urban-Loritz-Platz and Hütteldorfer Straße. As a replacement, line 52 (among others) runs via Urban-Loritz-Platz to the Ring. This has also meant that Flexitys (type D) are now being used on the 52, and on 24 February there was a double premiere: first use of the D 395 and first use of this type on line 52.

On April 14, 2025, there was a burst water pipe at Quellenplatz with extensive adjustments to tramway services, line 11 was discontinued, line 6 was routed through the Favoriten depot and routed via Hauptbahnhof and line D, lines E1 and O were shortened and turned around at the Favoriten depot. From April 12–21, 2025, tram Line E1 replaced the U1 between Reumannplatz and Hauptbahnhof due to track work at Keplerplatz. Line 6 also ran with increased frequency.
